Second Degree Offer from Near East University: Double Major Program

Near East University offers students who are continuing their education in associate degree and bachelor’s degree programs with a double major program.

Near East University Press and Public Relations Department said in a statement that the students who are successful in their departments will be given the opportunity to get a second diploma in other fields as well as their own undergraduate programs by completing the Double Major Program.

What is a Dual Degree Program?
A Dual Degree is a program that makes it possible to earn two bachelor’s degrees from two undergraduate programs simultaneously. Students, who so wish and meet certain requirements and deemed eligible for receiving a second-degree program at a department within the same faculty or at another faculty, can receive two undergraduate programs and earn two bachelor’s degree diplomas simultaneously.

Application and Admission Requirements for Near East University Dual Undergraduate Degree Programs
To be eligible to apply for a dual degree program, students must have successfully completed all credited course in the undergraduate program that received till the application semester provided that they haven’t enrolled in another Double Major Degree or Dual Degree program. Students can’t enroll in more than one Double Major or Dual Undergraduate Degree Program simultaneously. However, the student may enroll in a minor degree program in addition to the dual undergraduate degree program provided that they fulfill the required conditions.

A four-year undergraduate student can apply for Dual Degree Program earliest at the beginning of the third term and the latest at the beginning of fifth term. Students receiving a five-year undergraduate program can apply a Dual Degree Program at the beginning of the seventh term. Students receiving six year programs can apply Dual Degree Program at the beginning of the ninth term. Associate Degree students are required to apply earliest at the beginning of the second term and latest at the beginning of the third term.

To be eligible to apply for a dual degree program, a student is required to have at least 2.30 point average and take place in the top 20% of success ranking for undergraduate program. Students with at least 2.30 grade point average but do not take place in the top 20% of the success ranking, can apply for dual degree program provided that they have points not less than the base point required for the double degree program in the relevant year.

Students, who are willing to apply for dual degree programs that accept students through aptitude test, are required to be successful in the aptitude test as well.
