Fatma Türüç was born in Hatay, Turkey, in 1993. She received her BA, M.Ed., and Ph.D. from
Eastern Mediterranean University, in the years 2017, 2019 and 2024, respectively. She worked
on "Gender and Energy Poverty" for her doctoral thesis. She was a research assistant at Eastern
Mediterranean University between 2017 and 2024. She worked as a consultant on the project
carried out by the World Bank for "Women's Economic Empowerment" in June 2022. In 2022,
she commenced teaching at Near East University as a part-time instructor and later joined as a
full-time staff member in the Department of Economics in 2024. She has provided various
trainings in the field of gender and contributed to organizing events. Additionally, she
participated in workshops and conferences related to this field. She took part in joint projects
with the TRNC Presidency, various non-governmental organizations, and associations. Her
research interests include gender economics, energy economics, environmental economics, and
economic development. She has published research papers and has reviewed numerous articles
for international journals.
