Prof. Dr. Aliya Işıksal was born in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan. Her mother is a mathematician and her father was a Chemist. She graduated from the 36th Secondary School in 2000 as the best student of the high school with 5.00/5.00 CGPA. She achieved a B.A. degree as a high-honour student and the best student of the graduating year with 4.00 CGPA with a double major from the Departments of English and Kazakh Languages. She holds an MBA in Financial Management from Girne American University. She achieved her Ph.D. from Girne American University in Business Management with a thesis entitles “Initial Under-Pricing & Long-Term Aftermarket Performance of the Russian IPO.”

Prof. Dr. Aliya Işıksal previously worked as a lecturer at Pavlodar State University, Girne American University and World Peace University. In 2016, she became the Associate Professor in the field of Banking and Finance. In 2022, she received a full Professorship in the field of Banking and Accounting from Near East University. Currently, she is a Professor at the Department of Banking and Accounting at Near East University. She has over 40 publications indexed in SSCI and Scopus Journals including Financial Innovation, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Energy Policy, Renewable Energy, Economic Research Journal, Romanian Journal of Economic Forecasting, and Technological Forecasting and Social Change. Prof. Dr. Aliya Işıksal is married with two sons.
